Following the move from Trier, in Germany, to Wecker, in Luxembourg, made one year ago, Laeis (Sacmi Group) has taken another step forwards with the inauguration of a new 1600 m2 assembly, logistics and storage plant. Laeis has set itself the goal of improving its standing and level of expertise by implementing its own services, spare parts logistics included.
The plant will be inaugurated on 17th March. With its know-how centre in Wecker and the Alpha Ceramics technological development centre in Aachen, Germany, Laeis offers everything needed to develop – in close collaboration with its customers – economically advantageous and technologically cutting-edge production methods. The Laeis kiln division, aimed at the ceramic and refractory industry, was incorporated into the Nuremberg-based company Riedhammer (Sacmi Group ) in Autumn 2004 so as to concentrate know-how, expertise and high-temperature kiln production in a single facility. Laeis specialises in the production of hydraulic presses (with a pressing force of 500 – 3600 tons), kilns with temperatures of up to 1850 °C, the engineering of plants and automation, technology development and services. Employing 65 people, Laeis now generates some € 25 million of business per year.
Consolidation of Laeis will certainly not slow down the continuous development and improvement of the Sacmi refractory press range, highly successful products that have won widespread approval among key customers in Europe and elsewhere thanks to outstandingly original technical solutions and services that are ever-more attentive to customer needs.
