For its Cersanit plants in Russia and Ukraine, the Rovese Group has purchased two AVB high pressure casting plants from Sacmi to manufacture wall-mounted WCs.
These two units bring the total number of such machines supplied by SACMI to this Polish Group to four. They follow, in fact, the first unit bought in 2011 for the Krasnystaw plant and further units followed the second installed in 2012 at Syzran, the plant in Russia.
More specifically, for the facility in Novograd, Ukraine, the investment is designed to complete a plant on which some AVE and ALS units are already installed.
Designed to meet the need to manufacture large quantities of open-rim WCs with 4 or 5-part moulds, in it's wall-mounted WC version the AVB can house up to seven 3-part moulds (also for different models).
The integrated casting centres are served by a Fanuc robot which de-moulds the pieces and then deposits them on a storage belt. Initial maturing of the de-moulded WCs occurs on the storage belt, which can hold up to 2 castings plus the one being de-moulded.
Storage is necessary for the maintenance and initial hardening of the pieces; such hardening allows initial manual refinement and manual handling, which ends with placement on the dryer cars.
To complete the integrated casting centre, SACMI is also able to supply the CTD in-line dryer which executes controlled reduction of piece moisture content and decreases the risk of cracking. Moreover, robotized loading of dryer cars is also available, either in a traditional version which can use the customer's cars or with laser guided (LGV) vehicles.
