On show: everything from ultra-high-productivity forming to Deep Digital decoration, plus process control, robotics and intralogistics.
SACMI is inviting customers from all over the world to TECNA 2026 to explore the ceramic factory of the future: an immersive journey through technologies, processes and surfaces, designed to illustrate the industry's evolving trends.
This ‘preview’ at Rimini Fiera will be followed by a broader experience in Imola, at the fully renovated SACMI Tiles Lab, where visitors can get a close look at the state-of-the-art ceramic process in a realistic industrial setting.
The new Tiles Lab, the SACMI pilot factory
Over fifty years of ceramic research, more than 45,000 raw materials analyzed and 33,000 bodies characterized: out of this wealth of experience comes the new SACMI Tiles Lab - fully renovated in 2026 - to take customers into the future of the industry. A facility designed to explore new aesthetics, features and process management methods, all within an increasingly digitalized, interconnected, quality-oriented factory.
From 21st to 30th September, two daily tours will guide visitors through the Lab’s pilot line and the ceramic process Control Room. The new Lab will offer customers a valuable opportunity to see materials, products and technologies in a real-world context, making each visit a moment of engagement, insights and shared development.
Continua+ and Deep Digital: a whole new surface experience
At TECNA 2026, SACMI will present continuous forming as a vital tool for dealing with new market needs: flexibility, continuity of production, aesthetic quality and an ability to learn new ceramic product ‘languages’.
In parallel, SACMI will also be showcasing the eagerly awaited Deep Digital Line: an integrated ecosystem of coordinated dry and wet digital applications, designed to unlock new surface design potential and create unprecedented aesthetic effects.
Integrated control of the entire decorative sequence is a SACMI hallmark: combining process expertise, automation and digital control lets manufacturers create more distinctive, consistent, customizable surfaces.
Intelligent Vision Systems, the Ceramic Process Control Room
At the SACMI Lab, a new generation of quality controls will accompany the product through the various process phases, from unfired slab to the post-kiln processing. SACMI-Italvision inspection systems form an integral part of this narrative, demonstrating how information can become a tool for reading, interpreting and managing the process with ever-increasing awareness.
The new Ceramic Process Control Room, which serves the Imola Lab pilot line, acts as the plant's ‘digital brain’. Product-, production- and machine-related information converges here, giving visitors a practical overview of the new opportunities that stem from industrial digitalization.
From the digital product ID to in-Cloud services, the tour shows how data can generate new assistance, monitoring and maintenance capabilities, opening up scenarios for greater operational continuity and collaboration between SACMI and its customers.
‘Robotic’ sorting and Intralogistics
The innovation presented at the Tiles Lab extends to the entire production flow. End-of-line solutions will also be on display, with new solutions for packaging, robotic picking and integrated control of traditional sizes and slabs. Internal logistics will also be part of the experience: customers can visit SACMI Imola's new automated warehouse and learn more about customizable solutions for the ceramic industry.
From the new Imola showroom to complete finishing solutions (BMR)
The Open Week in Imola ends in the revamped SACMI showroom, which gives customers a preview of how the latest range of technologies can produce superb aesthetic and application outcomes: a showroom designed to drive the conversation on emerging industry trends and new market expectations.
BMR finishing solutions complete the story: from traditional finishes, lapping and polishing to new completely dry surface finishes, integrated directly into the cutting and squaring process, creating the ultra-modern Total Dry line concept. This innovative production system merges squaring, cutting and surface finishing into a single continuous flow, eliminating the use of water and significantly reducing consumption, floorspace requirements and operating costs.
In parallel with the trade fair and Imola Open Week, there will also be dedicated visits to the BMR headquarters in Scandiano to explore developments in ceramic finishing with the BMR team and learn more about individual surface finishing technologies.

The SACMI network of Sanitaryware companies – SACMI Imola, Riedhammer and Gaiotto – confirms its leading role with a comprehensive range of technologies and services designed to drive the industry’s development.
From Tuesday 22nd September to Friday 24th September, SACMI will - concurrently with TECNA - be opening the doors of its Sanitaryware Lab in Imola: here, visitors will be able to see those technologies in action in real-world settings and learn more about the latest casting, glazing and finishing solutions, together with the relative automation. The visit will also cover the consolidated firing and product handling technologies that form part of an increasingly broad, comprehensive offering.
An expanded range of solutions and configurations has led SACMI to enlarge the demonstration area: a winning formula that provides a valuable opportunity for customers to engage directly with the SACMI technical team and see how a passion for ceramic-making delivers a sound, innovative response to everyday production needs.
