Sanindusa, leading European manufacturer of ceramic sanitaryware, has installed its third
SACMI robotized glazing line as part of its continued production expansion plan being carried out at its factory based in
Tocha (Portugal).
At the forefront of automation and technology, Sanindusa has chosen
SACMI RobotGlaze for its innovative production philosophy which, alongside
complete automation of the sanitaryware glazing process, also includes the total automation of
handling operations and
direct loading into the kiln, without storage times and intermediate transfers.
As with the two previous lines started up in 2019, this glazing line has been configured to allow for
automatic handling of the pieces picked up by the
LGV as they come out of the drying department. Picked up by the robot, the pieces are sent to two inspection booths installed parallel and with an operator.  Next the piece is moved on a shuttle and sent on for semi-automatic glazing of the
inside of the WC bowl and siphon which is carried out by an anthropomorphic robot.
At the heart of the system, further downstream, is the
GA2000 robot, able to work with self-learning and equipped with the latest edition of the
SmartOffLine software which, through the digital simulation of the glazing paths and application, ensures optimization of the operations and punctual checking of all the sanitaryware glazing process parameters.
Interconnected with the
HERE SACMI supervisor software, the cell guarantees the most advanced quality and performance monitoring,
maximizing efficiency and reducing glaze and raw material wastage. During the final stage of the process the pieces are moved along thanks to the
bar conveyor, running
parallel to the kiln, without further intermediate storage, thus facilitating the loading-unloading operations performed by the operator thanks to the
distances and the
optimized footprint.
Already installed at the Tocha production plant, the line will be started up by the end of February, guaranteeing to Sanindusa an increase in production capacity of around
200 thousand glazed WC bowls per year.
