Two new AVM 151 cells, specifically designed for one-piece WC,recently started-up and dedicated to the production of the company’s top-of-the-line models Cirta and Kotama. Behind this latest investment lies the overall modernization and production expansion plan for the Group’s plant in El-Milia achieved with SACMI sanitaryware automation.
The Algerian group Divindus boosts production of one-piece WC at its production plant in El-Milia, with the purchase of two AVM “one piece” 151casting cells from Sacmi. Specifically designed for the manufacture of this type of WC, each cell consists of two AVM casting machines set up to cast the WC bowl, rim and water tank, with the tank lid cast separately.
At the end of casting, the piece is demoulded with the help of SACMI’s exclusive suction system to remove the residual water from the bowl, syphon and water tank. After the surface has been sponged by the operator, the piece is deposited automatically on the car to start the ageing process outside the casting cell, from where it is then moved to the drier.
The two “twin” solutions were supplied to Divindus to produce the top-of-the-line models in its range; the one-piece WC CIRTA and KOTAMA, for which SACMI also supplied the respective modelling developments. The casting cells are highly automated and each one is equipped with an anthropomorphic robot provided with all the latest generation safety systems designed to stop operations if there is any risk of collision with the operator.
The layout of the cell is extremely compact and includes the body preparation area -with machines also supplied by SACMI - and, for each cell, its respective slip storage and feed tank with a capacity of 2.4 cubic metres, delivering slip at a pressure of 13 bar and temperature of 45 °C. With this configuration, each casting cell can produce approx. 4 pieces per hour.
The latest project is part of a wider plan to expand and modernize the production plant in El-Milia.This overall project includes the recent successful testing and start-up of the SACMI-supplied ALS casting machines for the production of squat pans and washbasins. The next step due soon is the start-up of the ADS solutions supplied. In addition to the important investments in SACMI Robot Casting technology, the plant project will be completed in the next few months with the final test of the new robotized glazing cells.
